Ingredients to cook Dhuska
Rice (soaked) – 200 grams
Chana dal (soaked) – 100 grams
Urad dal (soaked) – 50 grams
Green chillies – 4
Ginger – a small piece
Coriander leaves (finely chopped) – 4-5 leaves
Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon
Asafoetida – a pinch
Turmeric powder – 1/4 teaspoon
Salt – 1 teaspoon or as per taste
Eno fruit salt – 1/4 teaspoon
Refined oil – for frying
Directions to cook Dhuska
- To make Dhuskas, first of all clean the rice and both types of lentils separately. After that wash them and soak them in water for 4-5 hours.
- After 5 hours, remove the excess water from them and put the soaked rice in a mixer jar and grind it by adding some water. Now take out this ground rice mixture in a vessel.
- Now prepare a paste by adding soaked urad dal, soaked chana dal, green chillies, ginger and some water in the mixer jar. Now take out this paste in the vessel containing rice paste.
- Now add cumin, asafoetida, turmeric powder, salt and finely chopped coriander to this rice-lentil mixture and mix everything and prepare a smooth batter. If the batter seems thick then add some water and mix it.
- Now to fry dhuskas, heat oil in a pan. Beat the batter well for 2-3 minutes. When the oil is hot, fill the mixture in a spoon and put it in the pan.
- When the dhuskas are cooked from the bottom and come above the oil, flip it. Cook it well from both sides until it becomes golden brown. Remove the cooked dhuskas from the oil and place it on a plate.
- Now serve it with vegetable or chutney.
